Awww....from baptism day, last Sunday.

Shaping up to be a rough, but interesting week.  Details tomorrow.  Or maybe Wednesday. 

In the meantime, enjoy this old scan that I recently found featuring my personal hero, Silas "Smitty" Smedlap -- a cantankerous old coot who wrecked havoc on Mary Worth a few years back.  Note the menu.  Mary and Dr. Jeff took this degenerate to a restaurant called "The Bum Boat," where Smitty threw a fit about having to eat, in his words, "feesh." 

Smitty, look out for that starfish!

Interesting to note the difference in art styles between then and now.  Looking back, Mary lived in a darker, yet equally craptacular world a few years ago.

Looks like Smitty was played by Colin Mochrie or "Who's Line is it Anyway?"

I wonder if his dialouge was ad-libbed?

Man, I never noticed the resemblance before. Eerie! He should use the starfish as a prop.
